FAQ

Approaching the new paradigm
How can one speak of a “pre-Big Bang” within a framework of understanding in which it is the Big Bang itself that generates spacetime?

Speaking of a pre-Big Bang is simply a way of approaching the question of what its cause could have been, and the paradox of a “before” is resolved by a new understanding of the nature of time (Theory).

How can a theory addressing the cause of the Big Bang be demonstrated, given that this cause is by nature entirely beyond reach?

The demonstration is the subject of a rigorous thought experiment presented in the demonstration.

Why could understanding of the origin of the Big Bang not be achieved within the framework of purely scientific research?

Because the scientific approach most often relies on concrete experiments capable of circumscribing effects and their causes, whereas here, one had to accept having only the effect — the universe — and attempt to circumscribe a type of cause falling outside the paradigm governing perceptible phenomena.
In doing so, rather than moving towards greater specialization zooming in on particular phenomena, it was necessary on the contrary to broaden the vision to encompass them all, which is what the Protophysics of Information and its Integral Vision do.
The story of the particular circumstances that led to this new paradigm is told in the Story.

Does the theory of the Living Void claim to replace current scientific paradigms?

The theory of the Living Void proposes a context prior to the Big Bang that is indeed distant from the current paradigm, yet its substance illuminates the known domain by providing an understanding of its unique cause.
A number of reinterpretations follow, allowing us to understand why phenomena appear as they do, what their inner workings are, and how they represent nothing more than diversified manifestations of this unique cause.
Dealing with the imperceptible, and even the ungraspable, the theory of the Living Void opens a new field of knowledge regarding what was reputed to be unknowable. Rather than facing the impasse of an impossible mystery, we find ourselves -no less enchanting for that- at the threshold of an infinity that we shall always have to understand more deeply.

Does the theory of the Living Void claim to call into question beliefs about the existence of a divine order?

Of course not, and quite the contrary, it provides a rational description, and thereby a new legitimacy, to what traditions describe as divine, sacred, or absolute.
The divine -or God- is understood here as a creative and unifying Force bound to this being in permanent becoming that is the eternal and infinite primordial void serving as incubator: the incubator of life. Thus, for the Integral Vision, what is felt as divine corresponds to an objective reality that is the effective source of all forms of existence.
The theory of the Living Void offers a common language enabling faith and reason to be reconciled, without imposing any dogma. It provides a correspondence that fully respects these two distinct types of apprehension of the real.
